Bluetooth devices that can be used with the Aston Martin Tracking system

In order to use a Bluetooth device for driver recognition in place of the Aston Martin Tracking transponder tag, the Bluetooth device needs to be multipoint capable so that it can pair with more than one Bluetooth device at a time. To use the phone as a driver recognition device it must first be paired in a one-time process. Then it should be on and charged, with Bluetooth on, whenever you start to drive the car.

The following devices have been confirmed as multipoint capable and are therefore suitable devices:

In order to use your Bluetooth device as a driver recognition device, you should contact your Aston Martin Dealer.  You will need to be able tell them the Bluetooth name of your device and the phone will need to be in the car with ignition on and the Bluetooth in your device must be on and set to discoverable. You should also agree a one-time PIN (eg, 1111) to accept the pairing. They can then remotely pair your phone to the tracking system. It is better not to be on a voice call while this happens. The dealer can call you back to confirm the pairing has succeeded.

You must keep the phone searching (Blackberry "listening", Nokia "discoverable", iPhone screen kept active) until you are prompted to enter the PIN to pair to a device named "Blue2im.....". The phone will connect temporarily but not stay connected.

The tag can still be used as well as the Bluetooth phone. Up to 6 phones may be paired.
